While digging through my boxed up remnants of my old apartment, i found quite a few random tapes. I've been listening to these tapes to see if they are recyclable or not, and i have found quite a few with some of my recorded output on them. An older habit of mine, for when i recorded, was that i would route my mixer to a cassette player, before my usb recording hub. I very much liked the sound i got by doing that, well some time before i found out i could just leave it on pause, i'd just go ahead and burn through a tape. This tape marked Amy Grant "Lead Me On" is the source for this experiment.

I took the tape and played it back slowed down, and recorded the sound presented(that is pass one). I then took that audio recorded it to tape, and again played it back slowed down and recorded that. From there every couple of weeks i'll upload another pass...
Civilization, any civilization, is doomed because of the goldfish/castle phenomenon. This follows from an understanding of both Laurelle's non-philosophy and also from Deleuze's actualizations of the virtual. (I.E. The last instance for and of The One becomes only seemingly ever and ever present, not that it is, for it's a limit.) Memory and information, supplemented as it is now by the Wiki phenomenon brings with it the need to actualize phenomenon (create intensities) on global and Chaosmosic scales, the ability to instantiate and visualize, viralize the cosmos in
The more we remember the more that there is to remember, - we remember to remember, place mark the place marks of a life, in other words as language is memory, differentiated memory capable of infinite flux, differentiations - Dx,Dy…or the empty set… being as it, in itself is re-folded, music like everything else becomes more complex. Reality escapes us in its superabundance, for example in the very act of reading say Joyce's Ulysses reality is mirrored and so escapes us in our inability to move into the mirrored world, we stand outside of it, suffering from but being aware and so scared - an Alzheimer's which is common to all systems of large dynamic memories… whereas it can distort, shape, enfold, endlessly re-reflect we remain static in front of it, only mentally as well as physically excluded. A tactic is to become a clone, a simulacra. Goldfish music is noise, yet one where even the cas
A sound of constant low static without synthesis so without time, so without "ing", only the mundane reality outside of noise provides the real, rather than the complex illusions of mirror play - each telling the truth, each reflection univocally the world which is not noise. Thus HNW effectively walls off the mirror, or mirrors, like an opaque goldfish bowl of infinite size - being dimensionless, well 2x90 minutes here! though this 'time' can only be given exterior to the work unlike musics internal clocks… and so becomes the limit as *reached*, leaving what could be called if we had a language- self, reality, the real, "This" (my favorite from java) but not The One, not being… better the Hollywood IT! or The Goldfish that is me. IT'S AN IDEA BASED ON IMPROVISATIONAL MUSIC/NON-MUSIC, SOMETIMES THERE ARE SET RULES TO THE COLLABORATION AT HAND, SOMETIMES THERES NOT. THIS DISC IS AVAILABLE FROM O:N VIA SUBSCRIPTION ONLY, AND FEATURES JEREMY DZIEDZIC AND PAUL DEVER, BOTH ON VARIOUS ELECTRONICS. THIS MATERIAL IS MORE IN-LINE WITH MY DVR MATERIAL, NOT REALLY HARSH (IT HAS IT'S MOMENTS), MORE DRONEISH, BUT IT'S TRUE FOCUS IS ON MOOD AND THE EXPLORATION OF TONES AND THEIR INTERACTIONS WITH EACH OTHER. I AM OF THE OPINION THAT I ALWAYS SOUND GOOD WITH OTHER PEOPLE (DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S BECAUSE I SUCK, OR AM JUST MORE OF A TEAM PLAYER THAN I THOUGHT). IT'S A GOOD BET, I'LL REAR MY UGLY MUG ONTO FUTURE EDITIONS OF O:N, AND IT MAY NOT SOUND THE SAME AS HERE, BUT THAT'S WHAT YOU GET WITH IMPROVISED MUSIC, A SNAPSHOT OF THE ARTISTS IN A SMALL MOMENT OF TIME...

i always wanted to, even from the beginning, make my own set-up, so it would be a one-of-a-kind thing.
my gear whoring has always stood in the way, i've started the long process of selling off most of my gear.
so i have no choice but to make my own in order to record, a bit of tough love on myself, but i'm sure i can follow through. so one could only expect a bit of a hiatus until i finish my gear purge and begin/complete the making of new equipment.

i have about eight releases out in the aether at this point...
i expect to see four of them materialize at some point, the other four i've given up hope on long ago, for the best i assume, i probably wouldn't like any of that audio now...

Cursed Aether - i think has run it's course, maybe it'll appear again, but there are no other current releases planned for this project, and i might get to uploading the mp3's for this project soon...

DVR - i have one last thing to record for now, then i'll purge that gear and follow suit with a new era of electronics... a few early works will be uploaded shortly

GRIZ+ZLOR: the last official recording (for now) will be the 12 month cassette tape swap hnw edition, there is of course muff obsession II, but again that won't be credited to anyone in particular (the muff is the only thing important), a collaboration with infirmary has been in the works for a while now and is probably the only thing kinda imminent on the release table... some early works, and some wreckage that just never made it will be uploaded asap.

Mystic Soul Alliance - is done, anything i have done under this name will fit under the dvr banner. all this work will be uploaded asap...

WRECKAGE:

here are some un-realized releases as well as some un-used artwork for real life releases...

Devil Man was supposed to be a 1 of 1 tape using a recycled cassette box, well i never got to actually recording it and it's for the best, the label came right off... (p.s. same story for metamorphosed into stone)

Here's the original layout for the Audial Decimation comp booklet...

it really needed color, even though the statue series was all b&w

DVR IS MORE OF A CONTINUATION OF MY FAILURE OF A GREAT MACHINE WORK, JUST IN A SOLO SETTING. SO PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING I CAN'T SAY WITH GRIZ+ZLOR/CURSED AETHER I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO WITH DVR. SO EXPECT LOTS OF VARIATION OF RELEASE TO RELEASE (OR Y'KNOW MAYBE NOT...)
'Heavy Masonry ia all about creating a very thick & constant black jittering wall of evil sounding & murky static tone. Inside the black spray paint of black plastic case Griz=zlor offers up just over twenty minutes of grim, nihilistic yet rewarding 'wall' making.

The tracks 'wall' is built around a mid-pace rolling & crunching static boil which has some nice speaker rippling & crackling semi tones come off of it. At times it feels like jitters & crackles could suddenly join-up together & speed-up into all out overload, but they never do. It just keeps a steady, mid-pace & entrenched path through-out which over time becomes very hypnotic & additive as the 'wall's almost stuck groove really digs into your head. The whole track fells like your sliding slowly down a vast black slop of shadowy form& everywhere you look up, down, and from left to right is this juddering static fog that has more pitch blackness in it than white light; and it just seems to be getting thick & more engulfing the longer the track goes on.

Another excellent example of pitch black, thick and unmovable slice of 'wall' making from this Pennsylvanian based one-man project that has been active since 2006.

PAUL.DVRhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00272305441329204055noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7620642146916483523.post-2595140324833993582010-02-28T23:31:00.000-08:002010-02-28T23:50:11.450-08:00V/A - BRICK BY BRICK 3" CDR BOXSETFROM SMALL DOSES
TO SAY THE LEAST IT WAS RECORDED DURING A HECTIC TIME IN MY LIFE. THE LOGO ASSEMBLAGE WAS AN ATTEMPT AT A PORTRAIT ARRANGEMENT. I LIKED IT BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF A SPINE WITH SHOULDER BLADES AT THE TOP (NO RIBCAGE). BUT I THINK THAT'S THE ONLY TIME YOU'RE GONNA SEE THAT...
I really like the way Dever keeps the track constant & thick through-out, yet he nicely mangers to shift the tonally qualities between: heavy static down pours, frying in sound fat fast simmers, jack-up ‘n’ rolling hammerings & fast crumbling tones. There's also some really neat sort of stretched spray paint like hissing static textures of noise coming in towards the end of the track

Another great slice of HNW that’s primed for full submersion & blocking out the world around you. With Dever cutting the track to the optimum HNW length of 20 minutes- meaning you have enough time for it to infect & engulf your head yet not enough time to become boring or stayed.

my track is another in my statue series using a statue as a source. This time though i was using four different lines producing a very pronounced texture. Very much along the lines of Domina Oriens.

A Review from an unknown source (i'll separate what's relevant if possible):

Griz+zlor: Brutal walls of chunky, grinding noise attack you from your speakers at the onset of this track. High pitched pings float over the chaos. The noise moves and shifts as lower throbs make their way to the surface. The amount of variation and time length makes Statue003 a standout track among the sea of strictly noise artists who dominate the scene.

A Review from Plaguecast:
http://plaguehaus.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=191&Itemid=27

Griz+zlor - Statue003: Wall Noise can get kind of boring if the artist has no purpose or sense of direction. The Griz is definitely one of my favorites because he suffers from neither of these maladies. Using a statue as the source sound, it carves it’s way around the brain folds and inserts enough variety to keep you guessing.

A review from Antimodene Tonträger:
“Statue003″ by Griz+Zlor is a nice contrast to the predecessing tracks. Overdriven, saturated and static waves of distortion with minor or almost no movement. Very harsh.
